From my exhibit “Alaska Bestiary” This is from a Tlingit story about a raven peeking under the water to see what was there, causing an area-wide flood in Southeast Alaska. The mountain tops, in my vision of the scene, are barely peeking out above the water and the bears were forced to swim to a better spot, alarming the dogs riding on a Tlingit traditional canoe.
