Original Acrylic Gouache Painting on Museum-Quality Paper

Description

Experience the unique wilds of the Tongass National Forest in Southeast Alaska through placing this artwork in your workspace or home, or share the experience with a friend or loved one by gifting them with this authentic landscape.

This is an original gouache painting that I created while hiking in a high muskeg – what we call bogs in Southeast Alaska. The contrast of the warm-orange tiny muskeg plants against the greens of the trees and the distant islands and the blue saltwater channel make this area one of my favorites for my morning walks. The skinny silver dead cedar trees stand out in beautiful relief against the chaos of the bull pines, hemlocks and cedars all around. The trees struggle to grow in the saturated, cold, nutrientless muskeg soil and often are fascinatingly twisted like bonsai trees, or stand sleek and pale silver in the landscape.

This will be quickly packaged for you in acid-free paper, a protective sleeve and mailed in a bend-proof envelope. It is signed and dated by me on the back.
